In 2024, we even hit a new milestone: landing at number 44 in the Race to the Top 50 Ford Dealers, finishing 10th in the country for new Ford Commercial vehicle sales, and soaring to 5th place nationally for new Ford sales in the month of December alone.

Our Story

Dave Wilson Sr. launched Preston Automotive Group in 1975. We were once a simple Ford dealership, which soon turned into a booming Autoplex. Over the last five decades, we’ve grown from our beginnings in Preston, MD, to a thriving family of dealerships and businesses across Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. What started with Preston Ford in 1975 has expanded to include brands like Mazda, Nissan, Hyundai, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram. Along the way, we’ve added body shops, Quick Lane centers, iFrog Marketing Solutions, Preston Powersports, and Preston Lawn & Equipment. We’ve stayed true to our roots and commitment to serving the community through every milestone.

It Hops in the Family

The Preston Automotive Group is a true generational story. Founded by Dave Wilson Sr., the legacy now continues with his son, David Wilson Jr., who grew up in the business and worked his way from the detail shop to the showroom. In 2020, he became President and CEO, leading the next chapter of this family-driven automotive tradition. With multiple family members now leading the way, the Preston legacy is growing stronger and driving full speed into the future.

Why the Frog?

When the Preston Frog first appeared, he made such a splash that his brief disappearance sparked a wave of support from the community. People called, wrote letters, and made it clear they wanted him back. From that moment on, he was no longer just a character. He became the Preston Frog. For over 40 years, he has been a familiar face in our logos, commercials, and proudly riding on the dashboard of every Preston vehicle sold. More than a mascot, he is a valid symbol of who we are. Our trademark Preston Frog is a lasting reminder that great ideas and strong values never go out of style.

Community First

For 50 years, Preston Automotive Group has been driven by more than just vehicles. We are driven by our community. Supporting and uplifting those around us has always been at the core of who we are. That is why we founded Preston Cares, a movement that began in 1984 with the birth of the beloved Preston Frog. Through Preston Cares, we have proudly raised awareness for meaningful causes by featuring different colored Frogs throughout the year and actively participating in local events that bring our community together. Our commitment runs deep. From supporting Talbot Goes Purple and the ALS Foundation to investing in local schools and honoring our everyday heroes, including healthcare professionals, first responders, and teachers, we are always looking for ways to give back. One cause especially close to our hearts is the fight against breast cancer. Each October, we proudly Leap For A Cure, wearing pink and uniting with our community to raise awareness, support survivors, and work toward a cure. This mission grew even stronger in 2020 with the creation of the Annual Frog’s Fairway Golf Tournament, now a cherished tradition with proceeds directly supporting local breast cancer organizations, making a difference right here on the Eastern Shore. Through Preston Cares, we have championed causes that touch every corner of our community, including heart health, childhood cancer, substance abuse awareness, brain tumor research, and veteran support. As we celebrate our 50th anniversary, we know that true success is not measured by sales or growth, but by the lives we have touched and the community we proudly serve.
