In a heartfelt display of community commitment, we are proud to announce our founder, Dave Wilson Sr., has donated $25,000 to support critical roof repairs at the iconic Waterfowl Building in downtown Easton, Maryland. This generous contribution helps close a funding gap and ensures the beloved landmark remains a vibrant part of the Eastern Shore for generations to come.
A Building Rich in History
Built in 1927 as the National Guard Armory, the Waterfowl Building has served as a pillar of the Easton community for nearly a century. Over the years, it has hosted everything from political rallies and civic events to the cherished Waterfowl Festival each November, a celebration of conservation, heritage, and artistic expression rooted in the traditions of the Eastern Shore.
The building continues to be a gathering place for residents and visitors alike, home to events like Plein Air Easton, the TIS Lip Sync Battle, and First Night Talbot. Its legacy is one of unity, education, and culture, making its preservation a community-wide priority.
A Gift That Inspires
“When the Preston Automotive Group learned of a funding gap in grant funds to make critical repairs to the Waterfowl Building’s roof, they stepped up—directing their 2025 gift to close it,” said Deena Kilmon, Executive Director of the Waterfowl Festival. “Their generosity is a powerful example of true community partnership. We are deeply grateful for this impactful contribution, which we hope will inspire others to support the restoration of this beloved landmark as it enters its second century of service to Talbot County’s residents.”
With deep roots in the Eastern Shore, the PAG family has long advocated for preserving the region’s cultural and environmental heritage. Our support for the Waterfowl Building restoration is both personal and community-driven, rooted in pride, tradition, and legacy.
“We’re incredibly proud to support the restoration of a space that is a landmark to the town of Easton,” shares Wilson. “Supporting its restoration is about more than preserving a structure. It’s about honoring the memories, traditions, and sense of community that make the Eastern Shore feel like home.”
Carrying the Tradition Forward
Since its founding in 1971, the Waterfowl Festival, Inc. has raised more than $6 million to support wildlife conservation and education efforts across the Chesapeake region. From scholarships for local students to grants for conservation organizations, their mission has always been to protect what makes the Eastern Shore so extraordinary. Plans for interior renovations will unfold over the coming year, guided by community feedback and available funding.
As Easton prepares to celebrate 100 years of this treasured building, the gift from Dave Wilson Sr. ensures that its legacy remains strong and its doors stay open for generations to come.

We at Preston Automotive Group, through Preston Hyundai, were honored to partner with Saints Peter & Paul Parish and School (SSPP) for their Hyundai Santa Fe Giveaway, which officially wrapped up on Friday, June 6th. The excitement and joy came to a heartfelt close during SSPP Elementary School’s Field Day celebration, where the community gathered to mark this special moment. It’s always meaningful for us to support local schools and families, and we’re proud to have been part of such a memorable event.
Our partnership with SSPP raffled off a new 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe, raising over $70,000 to benefit tuition assistance for SSPP families directly. More than 9,000 raffle tickets were sold as the community rallied together in support of Catholic education.

The much-anticipated raffle drawing took place just before the popular tug-of-war event on Field Day. Connor, a spirited second-grader at SSPP, had the honor of selecting the winning ticket. The lucky winner, Brandon Greenwood, was promptly called by John Lee, our General Manager at Preston Hyundai, who was thrilled to deliver the exciting news.
“It was so great to see over 9,000 tickets were entered into the raffle,” said Sherrie Connolly, Principal of SSPP Elementary School. “This event has been a wonderful example of how our community comes together to support our families and our mission.”

Father James Nash, Laurie Hass, Parish and School Director of Finance and Human Resources, and Principal Sherrie Connolly represented Saints Peter & Paul Parish and School at the event. Each expressed gratitude for the overwhelming community participation and the partnership with Preston Hyundai.
“Giving back is part of who we are,” states Chris Marks, COO of Preston Automotive Group. “We’re thrilled to support SSPP’s mission to make quality education accessible to more families on the Eastern Shore.”
At Preston Automotive Group, supporting our community is at the heart of everything we do. We’re grateful for the opportunity to contribute a prize that not only brought excitement but also helped make Catholic education more accessible for local students and families. It’s an honor to play a small part in creating brighter futures and strengthening the community we’re proud to call home.

From Ashes to Strength: 25 Years Later
February 1, 2000, is a date forever etched in the history of Preston Automotive Group. On that fateful day, a devastating fire tore through our dealership, leaving much of our operations in ruins. What could have been a moment of despair became a defining chapter of resilience, strength, and unwavering commitment from our team and the incredible community that rallied around us.
In the wake of the fire, we faced what seemed like a daunting challenge. Yet, through determination, teamwork, and the support of our loyal customers and neighbors, we rebuilt stronger than ever. The experience reaffirmed our belief that Preston Automotive Group is not just a business; it is a family deeply woven into the fabric of the community we serve.
The brave firefighters who responded without hesitation were at the heart of that fateful day. Twenty-five fire departments from across the region came together, risking their safety to protect our people and property. Their selflessness and courage turned the tide, ensuring that what was lost could one day be rebuilt. Our story might have taken a very different turn without their swift and heroic actions.
As we mark the 25th anniversary of the fire, we do so with gratitude. In honor of the men and women who answered the call that day, we proudly announce that Preston Automotive Group has donated $2,500 to each of the 25 responding fire departments. While no monetary gift can truly match their bravery, we hope this contribution serves as a small token of our deep appreciation for their dedication to keeping our communities safe.

The following fire departments received donations in recognition of their heroic efforts on the night of the Preston Fire: Blades, Bridgeville, Cambridge, Cordova, Delmar, Denton, East New Market, Easton, Ellendale, Federalsburg, Georgetown, Greensboro, Gumboro, Harrington, Hurlock, Laurel, Linkwood-Salem, Oxford, Preston, Ridgely, Seaford, Secretary, St. Michaels, and Trappe. Each department played a crucial role in responding to the emergency, and we are deeply grateful for their bravery and dedication to keeping our communities safe.

This anniversary is not just about remembering the fire. It is about honoring those who protect us daily and recognizing the importance of resilience, generosity, and perseverance. As we look to the future, we do so with a renewed sense of purpose, forever grateful for the support that has shaped who we are today.
Thank you to the brave firefighters, our loyal customers, hardworking employees, and caring neighbors. Your support has made all the difference, and we continue to drive forward stronger than ever!

Preston Automotive Group Installs AED Machines

PAG’s Commitment to Health & Safety
At Preston Automotive Group, we are proud to announce the installation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at all 26 of our locations, including the iFrog Building. This initiative comes in memory of Mike Bullis, our company’s beloved Service Director, who tragically passed away from cardiac arrest last September.

We have partnered with local fire departments to provide training on the proper use of AEDs for its employees. This commitment to employee and customer safety builds upon our long-standing support for the American Heart Association (AHA). Notably, in February, the iconic green Frog turns red in recognition of the AHA. Pansy Wilson, Dave’s mother, and longtime nurse, helped choose this color and organization while working to educate the community on heart health.
Since 2014, we’ve consistently supported the AHA, raising funds through various initiatives. In February of this year, PAG held a special donation week in Mike’s honor, generating an impressive $11,750 for the AHA.

The funding for the AED installation project goes beyond the February donation week. In a joint effort, we were able to secure an additional $40,500 through a combination of car sales in December and a dedicated sales push driven by the company’s Top 60 team. Notably, the Top 60 Sales Drive logo subtly incorporated the initials “MB” within the iconic frog design, further honoring Mike’s memory.

In the heart of Preston, there’s a legacy of community and support that runs deep. It all started with Pansy Wilson, the matriarch of the Preston family, who believed that businesses should stick together to build stronger communities. Now, her legacy lives on through the Preston Business Alliance program, spearheaded by Lisa Schmitt, the Business Development Manager for Preston.
Pansy Wilson, along with her sons Dave Sr., Earl, and HG, instilled in the family the importance of businesses supporting one another. This belief became the cornerstone of the Preston Business Alliance, where businesses come together to uplift each other and their community.
Joining the alliance is simple. Lisa Schmitt personally meets with each business to understand their needs, whether it’s the size of their team or specific challenges they’re facing. Once on board, businesses receive a unique code that unlocks a world of benefits tailored just for them.

What sets the Preston Business Alliance apart is its commitment to customization. No two businesses are alike, so each partnership is crafted to fit their unique requirements. Businesses receive personalized assistance that aligns with their requirements, whether it’s gaining access to specialized services, exploring partnership opportunities, or enjoying discounted memberships at Preston’s gym, Beau Monde Elite Fitness.
At its core, the program is driven by a sense of community and giving back. There are no costs or agreements—just an invitation to be a part of something bigger and support the community that supports them. It’s Preston’s way of saying, “We’re here for you.”

But the benefits don’t stop with the businesses themselves. Employees also reap the rewards, with perks like mobile services that save time and money, along with special pricing on various amenities. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.
Already, businesses like Tidal Health, Caroline County Public Schools, Choptank Electric Cooperative, Summit Community Bank, and more have joined the program. With over 40 companies on board and growing every day, the Preston Business Alliance is making a real impact in the community.

One touching example of the program’s impact is a customer who had never purchased from Preston before. After a bad experience elsewhere, they were hesitant to seek service again. But thanks to the convenience of on-site servicing provided through the program, they were spared the hassle of taking a vacation day to get things sorted. It’s moments like these that highlight the true value of community support.
In essence, the Preston Business Alliance program is more than just a business initiative—it’s a testament to the power of collaboration, compassion, and community. Through Lisa Schmitt’s dedication and the enduring legacy of the Preston family, businesses in Preston aren’t just thriving—they’re building a stronger, more connected community, one partnership at a time!
