Hyundai Hope on Wheels
Hyundai is thrilled to be doing our part for National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with the Hyundai Hope on Wheels project. This includes the Hope on Wheels handprint ceremony, which will take place at John Hopkins University on September 21st. This event is an effort to raise efforts and awareness in the fight against childhood cancer. The National Youth Ambassador for Hyundai Hope on Wheels, 13 year old Hannah Adams from Florida, will be there as a special guest speaker. She will be discussing her battle against pediatric cancer, bringing hope and inspiration to others. Join us in the battle against childhood cancer by participating in this incredible cause against an awful disease. We are looking forward to banding together with the community to fight the issues caused by pediatric cancer.
Every handprint tells a story and with the Hyundai Give Hope a Hand theme, supporters can learn, share, care, and give to those suffering from childhood cancer. From sharing videos of brave children fighting the illness to posting a letter of hope to donating to the cause, the Give Hope a Hand program provides a fantastic platform to band together as a community to provide the kind of lifesaving research that our community needs. Hyundai Hope on Wheels awards over 30 research grants, which total up to nearly $8 million to help research to fight childhood cancer. That money is not just being donated to spread awareness of pediatric cancer, but is actually being donated to research in the battle against this awful disease. Hope on Wheels is also visiting Washington D.C. to advocate for our cause, in addition to holding a thought leaders summit and a national September tour.
Pictures Taken of Rumored Mustang GT500 Prototype
Ford has their target on high performance vehicles such as Chevrolet’s 650 horsepower supercharged Camaro ZL1. What better way to compete with a sports car with such power than by beating Chevrolet at their own game? We’re, of course, talking about the long awaited, much buzzed about Mustang Shelby GT500. Many people mistook the prototypes of the Mustang Shelby GT350 for the GT500 before it was released, but with the GT350 already on the market, the GT500 is the only option yet to be released.
Car and Driver recently snapped some photos of a prototype that Ford is testing out. Rumor has it, with multiple clues supporting this theory, that this prototype is much sought after Mustang GT500. This version of the Mustang is the only current generation Mustang that is expect that has not been revealed yet. This Mustang is rumored to completely blow the similarly priced ZL1 out of the water and put Ford back on top when it comes to the horsepower wars.
The distinguishing feature of the GT500 is the twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which is covered with a brand new front end that is optimized in a way to feed air into the engine. The vehicle features zippered panels above the grill, which can likely be removed to reveal cooling vents. Neither the Mustang GT or the GT350 have this feature that opens up in this fashion. The inverted spars that separate the low air inlet from the outboard brake-cooling ducts give hints that the pictured model may be the GT500.
Fans of the Ford Mustang can look for the Shelby GT500 to hit the market late in 2017 or perhaps 2018. Your friends here at Preston Ford cannot wait for the new Shelby GT500 to get into our stores. In the meantime, we will have to stick to speculations and rumors to hold us over until the release date.
New Ford Bronco to Debut
Ever since Ford first announced that they will be revamping and reissuing the Bronco, Ford fans have been clamoring for news regarding this vehicle. First appearing in 1966, the Ford Bronco started out as a compact vehicle, but after 11 years of reconfigurations, it turned it a full-sized platform, similar to that of the F100 pickup. When 1983 rolled around, the Bronco II made headway in popular culture, while actually being smaller in size than the predecessor. The Ranger pickup truck chassis complete a look that is now iconic among car fans. So needless to say, Ford auto manufacturers had quite the task on their hands creating the new concept while sticking to the same look that America fell in love with.
Ford has not yet confirmed a release date, but the internet is swirling with rumors regarding when the brand new Ford Bronco will debut. Many rumor mills are stating that Ford will release the new Bronco late in 2017. There are also some saying that the new Bronco will hit Ford dealerships at the beginning of 2018. Publications have been debating the debut date, but with additional designs already being leaked, it is clear that the newest version of the Bronco is well on the way to hitting the market. It is clear from all the chatter about when this vehicle is coming out that Ford fans can’t wait for this debut.
The body of the new Ford Bronco is bold and simple. A completely square appearance is accented by massive xenon headlights that are fashioned into the sides of the grille lattice, emblazoned with the ‘Bronco’ name. The bold exterior pairs perfectly with the interior, with features such as two nest locations in the dash for meters plus a stylized compass to help you get you where you need to go. There is also a ton of room inside of the new Bronco, with even more room when the luggage compartment pulls out sideways for easy access. You can even take out the rear seats to really get the party going.

The Frog Express Comes to Preston Ford
Saturday, July 23rd marks the grand opening of Frog Express, a new improvement to the Preston Ford service department. Now with no appointment necessary to visit our service department, Frog Express grants customers more convenience than ever. Applying to only Ford Light Duty cars and trucks, Frog Express will get the job done when you want it done, without having to call ahead. Transits and Super Duties do not apply for this program, but all Ford Light Duty vehicles apply.
A number of services are available via Frog Express of the Preston Ford service department. The services include oil changes, tire rotations, battery checks, a 27-point inspection, wiper blades, cabin air, and air filter. With a $10 mail-in rebate, “The Works” are available for $29.95. This includes a synthetic blend oil change, brake inspection, fluid top-off and battery test. The Works also includes a check of the belts and hoses, a filter check, a multi-point inspection, plus a tire rotation and pressure check.
During the week, Frog Express will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. With this new feature, the Preston Ford service department hopes to expand the appeal of our services to a wider audience, those that may not want to schedule their appointments ahead of time, a market that was formerly untapped before the days of Frog Express. We hope the customers of the service department enjoy this improvement and continue to make the Preston Ford Service Department the top Ford service department in Maryland.
