The goals, similar to years past, are to be the #1 Ford Dealer in the region, Top 10 in the Nation Month to Date (MTD), and Top 85 Year to Date (YTD). Last year they blew away their goal and reached number 72 in the Nation (YTD).

History of the Top 100 and Preston Ford
Preston Ford actually has a history of making the list of Top 100 Ford Dealers in the Nation each of the past few years! This is a huge accomplishment for the small town of Preston. Starting in 2009 Preston Ford was 109th in the nation out of all 3,300 Ford dealers. In 2010 Preston Ford was 93rd in the Top 100 Ford Dealers in the nation. In 2011, Preston Ford again moved up in the ranks to 89th place for their second Top 100 finish. When 2012 came around, Preston made it to 102nd place – just barely missing the Top 100 Ford Dealers in the nation. However, in 2013 Preston Ford returned to the ranks of the Top 100 equaling their highest mark to date – 89th in the nation. That record was shattered in 2014 when they finished at 72nd in the nation! They are looking to have similar success as the year winds down in 2015.

George Jackson is Bringing His Scrolls to Millsboro!
Twenty years ago on Thanksgiving George Jackson of American Corner had an idea for a way to honor troops over seas. He was watching the news early in the morning and saw interviews with the American Troops in Germany who were readying themselves to go into Bosnia. He had a roll of paper and he thought ‘I’m going to see if they want to join me in writing on it and get it over to the troops because they will be leaving their families right before Christmas.’ That first scroll ended up being the length of a football field with messages from people all over the Delmarva area. This is the idea that has led to George’s legendary scrolls.
He has sent his scrolls all over the world including Spain, Italy, Bosnia, Bases in Africa, Honduras and even the North Pole! The Coast Guard has a base near the North Pole and George even received a picture of those members holding his stretched-out, 419-foot scroll in front of one of the largest ice cutting ship in the world. He said that was an especially proud moment for him and that getting those pictures is what keeps his drive alive to carry on with this project.
Ever since he started, he has been all over Delaware, Maryland and Virginia lugging his heavy scrolls of paper to various events such as car shows, parades, malls and more. He is known quite well around the area and he has just announced that he will be at the new Millsboro Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram on Friday, November 13th with his scrolls in hopes of getting some filled up to send for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year.
These scrolls are appreciated by all the military personnel who receive them and if you don’t believe us then George will have tons of stories for you that will make you believe in what he is doing. So, from 11AM-5PM on Friday, November 13th, George Jackson will be at Millsboro CDJR celebrating 20 years of his scrolls. He will have some to sign for each branch of the United States Military, so if you’re in the area come by and sign his scrolls so they can go out in time for the holiday season and check out our huge inventory of new Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram vehicles! Jeep and Dodge Sales Stay Strong, Show Growth
Fiat Chrysler Automobile (FCA) brands Jeep and Dodge have had strong sales numbers recently and those numbers have continued according new numbers released by FCA US. They have maintained year-over-year monthly growth for 67 straight months. That means their 2015 October numbers beat their 2014 October numbers and their 2015 September numbers beat their 2014 September numbers and so on for the past 67 months. That is incredible growth for some of the most reputable auto brands in the US. Some of those brands include Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram, which we now sell right here in Millsboro, Delaware.
More data from FCA US suggests that Jeeps continue to be the best selling of the four brands, selling 73,561 units last month nationwide. At Millsboro CDJR, we were proud to be able to contribute to that number within our first couple weeks of opening. The Jeep Patriot, the very first new vehicle purchased from Millsboro CDJR, garnered the largest increase of any FCA model, up over 50% daily. The Dodge Journey daily sales numbers rose over 32% year-over-year, for one of the strongest months for the Dodge CUV. The 2015 Journey was another one of our first new vehicle sales at Millsboro CDJR and we have nearly 20 Journeys in stock with that number rising each week. With all the efforts Preston Ford has made in the past several years to raise awareness about breast cancer, they were nominated and chosen by the Colors of Cancer Committee to receive the 2016 Community Partnership Honoree Award. The Colors of Cancer is a local organization that recognizes our local heroes of Talbot County! The organization’s committee receives nominations from people in the community to honor hometown heroes, which include: medical professional honorees, community partnership honorees, volunteer honorees and honorary chairs.
The Preston Automotive Group has strong ties to breast cancer. Our Executive Vice President, Peggy Wilson, and our Vice President’s Executive Assistant, Diana Vincent, both have been touched by breast cancer. So, every year Preston Ford does several things to support the fight against cancer.
For instance, this year they donated $100 for every vehicle sold out of each of their 10 dealerships in the Auto Group from October 14th-17th to the American Cancer Society. They also usually have an event called Paint the Plex Pink sometime in October. This year it had to be canceled because of an unexpected power outage, but usually we will have music, food and games for kids and adults. Everyone is encouraged to come dressed in pink and it is a good time all while raising awareness and money to fight breast cancer
The Preston Auto Group has also been giving out pink frogs instead of the regular green frogs throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). In the 1940’s Jeep was solicited along with 134 other automakers to produce a vehicle tailored to the US Army. Only three automakers responded and Jeep ended up winning the bid. In only seventy-five days the, “The Quad” became a functional war vehicle.
The Jeep brand currently manufactures and produces five models, but nine vehicles are under the brand name or use the Jeep logo. The Jeep Renegade, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Compass and Patriot will all be available at your local Jeep dealership in Millsboro Delaware.
