Ford Motor Company is rumored to be revealing some major performance announcements at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Most of the following rumors are not confirmed but are believed to be true by several automotive news websites such as Road and Track, Yahoo Auto, and others as well. If these developments are in fact revealed at the January Auto Show in Detroit, MI, then Ford will more than likely steal the spotlight away from all the other competition.
The Shelby GT350R with the flat-crank engine has created a ton of buzz so far this fall, but that seems to only be the tip of the iceberg. It’s is assumed that Ford will be bringing this beast of a car to the Auto Show next month in Detroit. Here are some other rumors swirling around Ford for this upcoming showcase.
First off, it is believed that Ford will be debuting an all-new Performance Sub Brand. There is much that leans toward this development including bringing the next-generation F-150 Raptor to the show as well as revealing a replacement for the Ford GT. A new GT would be the big headliner in Detroit, and if it turns out to be true, it would create the need for a new Performance Sub Brand. The two performance vehicles hinted at above would fit nicely under a performance umbrella that would act as Ford’s M or AMG. There are several names being considered for the Performance Sub Brand including 999, which was rumored in months prior. The 999 would of course be a tribute to the early 20th century race car created by Henry Ford.
Other cars in the Ford line-up rumored to make a splash at the Detroit Auto Show are the Focus RS & ST as well as the Fiesta ST. Most automotive news websites believe that Ford is making a Focus RS model to bring to the US. Currently it is only available in European countries at the moment. But this deceptively fast hatchback may be powered by the same engine in the new 2015 Mustangs and arrive stateside in 2015.
The Focus and Fiesta ST models are rumored to be mentioned at the show too. There’s not too much hype for these two, but Ford is supposed to reveal some minor details concerning possible facelifts and updates of these vehicles.
The Detroit Auto Show is always fun to keep an eye on because of all the exciting news that seems to come out of these showcases. Seemingly Ford plans to dominate the news feed of the show this year, so be sure to be on the lookout January 15-25, 2015.
2015 Hyundai Genesis Rakes in Multiple Awards
The 2015 Hyundai Genesis was just named the Sedan of the Year by popular men’s magazine, Esquire, for its luxurious design and smooth drive. Esquire is one of the world’s most iconic men’s publications, and they perform their own independent tests on vehicles in order to find the best of the best each year. This is a tremendous honor; one of many the 2015 Hyundai Genesis has received.
In addition to earning the Sedan of the Year title from Esquire, the 2015 Genesis also won ALG’s Residual Value Award in the Premium Full-Size Car category, was an IIHS Top Safety Pick+, and won Luxury Car of the Year by Popular Mechanic. The 2015 Genesis was also named to the North American Car of the Year short list; those winners are to be announced at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2015. There are many more awards the Genesis has won too, which tell you what an amazing step forward this is for Hyundai; a brand typically known for plain looking cars like the Sonata and Elantra. As we’ve found out from all the awards it has won – the 2015 Genesis is anything but plain. Top 100 Sales Drive: Preston Ford Contest!
Preston Ford, located in Hurlock, Maryland, has an exciting contest going on through the end of 2014. A top prize of $1,500 is on the line for any customer of Preston Ford! 
This contest started on since November 10, 2014, and will run through January 2, 2015. Nissan Sentra at Preston Nissan
The Nissan Sentra is consistently a top choice in the compact sedan category. That should continue into 2015 with the next model coming out sometime in December! The Nissan Sentra competes on the highest level of fuel economy for a compact sedan. With capabilities of reaching 40 mpg on the highway, the Sentra is an economy car with perks!
Here at Preston Nissan, we have over 50 Sentra’s in stock right now with our excitement rising about the release of the 2015s! The current Sentra’s are offered in four trim levels: S, SV, SR and SL. The base model comes with a remote keyless entry system, full power accessories and 16” steel wheels among other things. The next step up is the SV, which adds control buttons on the steering wheel and upgraded upholstery. The SR is the sport version and it comes with bolder styling elements including a lower body skirting and a rear spoiler. The SL is the top trim level that has wood-tone accents and dual-zone automatic climate control.
The interior is fairly surprising for what is considered a “small, compact” car. The fact is, many compact sedans now have the interior space and upscale, high-tech features once more commonly associated with larger or more expensive cars. The 2014 Nissan Sentra is a perfect example of this trend. It has large amounts of leg and headroom for four adults to fit comfortably.
Also, part of the interior that people may not always think about is the trunk space, and the Sentra at Preston Nissan has 15.1 cubic feet of space, which is a lot for a compact car.
The biggest draw to the Sentra is its fuel-efficient 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. It’s one of the smallest engines made for a motor vehicle, but it gets the job done while saving you tons of money at the pump in the process. With gas being cheaper than it has been in years, the Sentra will seemingly cost nothing to fill up the tank. A six-speed manual transmission is standard on the base model S; all other Sentra’s have the continuously variable transmission (CVT) as standard.

I want to take you back to last month, which was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and a crazy time for Preston Automotive Group. We decided to partner up with the American Cancer Society (ACS) and committed to donating $50 for every vehicle sold at any one of our nine locations all month long. We also got our three body shops involved and committed 2% of their sales during the month of October to our overall ACS donation. Preston Automotive Group has been a huge supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness as it has affected many of our own employees and families, and this donation campaign was our way of showing that they were not fighting alone – we were United For A Cure. (Check out all the facts about the ACS in the infographic below.)
In addition to our donation to the American Cancer society, Preston Automotive Group employees wore “Pink” all month long to show support and for the first time ever, Preston created a pink frog. Customers traditionally receive a green Preston frog with every vehicle purchase. So during October 2014, pink frogs were given to help show support in the fight against Breast Cancer.
Preston Automotive Group also created its first ever “Pink” fleet that consisted of a 2015 Ford Transit, two 2014 Ford Transit Connects, and a 2013 Ford Transit Connect. These vehicles were wrapped in pink to also aide in Breast Cancer Awareness. A 2014 Ford F-150 was also wrapped as this year’s Drive to Inspire vehicle. The Drive to Inspire campaign was started with Comcast Spotlight and Saving Second Base.
As a whole, Preston Automotive Group had a goal of raising a whopping $40,000 for the ACS. To do that we knew we would have to sell a combined 800 cars throughout our nine dealerships. It was a lofty goal, but we knew it could be achieved with hard work. So, with Breast Cancer Awareness Month all wrapped up, we are ready to announce our donation total. We donated a grand total of $38,500 to the American Cancer Society – only falling $1,500 short of our goal. We were still extremely happy with the efforts of our team and customers who helped us get to that amount.
We look forward to doing this again next year and raising even more money and awareness about breast cancer. Until then be on the look out for any one of our “Pink Fleet” Trucks around the Delmarva area and give us a “Honk” to show your support for the fight against breast cancer!
2015 Nissan Rogue at Preston Nissan
The 2015 Nissan Rogue is a fantastic family vehicle and will transport all the kids plus all their gear. Preston Nissan in Hurlock, Maryland, has a couple of these 2015 models on the ground already with plenty more on the way.
This compact crossover is offered in three trim levels: S, SV and SL. Two-row seating is standard on all models, while a third-row is available on the S and SV. For the base model, it has a lot of standard features. The 2015 Rogue at Preston Nissan also comes with a fuel efficient 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. Front-wheel drive is also standard and with that Rogue drivers will achieve 28 combined mpg. That is fantastic for any SUV even a compact crossover like the 2015 Rogue.
One of the 2015 Rogue’s key strengths is the interior. The dashboard layout is phenomenally user friendly and aesthetically pleasing. As on the 2015 Altima, the Rogue’s front seats are a NASA-inspired “zero gravity” design. They make you feel as if you are seated on a cloud, with all the right supports in all the right places.
There are tons of packages buyers can add on to all the standard features if they choose to. The Family Package adds that third-row of seats like previously stated along with run-flat tires. There are also Premium Packages for each of the three trim levels too.

2015 Nissan Frontier at Preston Nissan
Although full-size pickup trucks grab most of the headlines in the U.S., not everyone needs all of the capabilities of these large vehicles. That is where the 2015 Nissan Frontier comes in. It’s considered a compact-to-midsize pickup where as something like the F-150 is a full-size pickup truck. Truth is, the Frontier sometimes fits the needs of consumers better than full-sizers. Here at Preston Nissan in Hurlock, MD, we know the needs of our customers who have come from over 3,600 zip codes in the United States and abroad!
The 2015 Nissan Frontier is offered in two body styles: Extended and Crew Cab, with the Extended Cab being referred to as the King Cab. Crew Cab comes with a standard 5’ bed or optional 6.1’ bed; while the King Cab comes standard with the longer of the two beds. Where you get limited options on the body style, you get many options in terms of trim levels: S, SV, Desert Runner, Pro-4X and SL.
The base model, S, comes with a minimal amount of standard features including front bucket seats, rear privacy glass, and cloth upholstery. As you move up to the SV you get keyless entry and a 5” display screen, with many more optional features. These are the two base models of the 2015 Nissan Frontier which can be found at the Preston Autoplex in Hurlock, Maryland.
The next step up is the Dessert Runner, which has a pretty cool name and adds some pretty cool things. It receives upgraded high-performance shock absorbers and off-road tires. These advancements are made for those who will actually be taking this truck off-roading. Same thing goes for the next model: The Pro-4X. This has the works; off-road tires, a locking rear differential, underbody skid plates and a 5.8’ infotainment system. The Pro-4X has consistently made the top of the list of best off-road vehicles. Finally, the top trim, the SL, loses all the off-road equipment but retains the Luxury Package, which includes a sunroof, side steps into the cabin, and leather wrapped steering wheel.
The 2015 Nissan Frontier at Preston Nissan is offered with a choice of two engines. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder comes standard in the Extended Cab S and SV models; whereas the other models all come with the more powerful 4.0-liter V6. EPA-estimated fuel economy for each engine is right around 19mpg, which isn’t terribly appealing to buyers. However, if the manual transmission is chosen it ups the miles per gallon to an average of 21.
There are a lot of configurations for the 2015 Nissan Frontier, but bottom line – there is no compact or midsize truck better than this one. It offers superior everyday drive-ability and even more exceptional off-road driving abilities. 10 Best Cars of 2015
Car and Driver has just released their list of the 10 Best Cars of the 2015 Class. There are about 150 new cars released every year, so to be in the Top 10 is a huge honor. Here at Preston Automotive we are proud to say that we sell three of the top 10 in this list.
First one we’ll highlight is the 2015 Ford Mustang. There has certainly been a ton of buzz about the Mustangs because they just recently made their way to dealers across the country. Here at Preston Ford in Hurlock, Maryland, we have a handful of these American Roadsters and will certainly be getting more in over the next few months. One of the biggest reasons for all the hype is the updated suspensions, front and rear. Previous models of this car were said to have an awfully bouncy rear end. Even the smallest of bumps in the road made for an uncomfortable ride. So, Ford seems to have taken that feedback to heart and put an independent rear suspension on the new 2015 ‘Stangs. Once they did that, they found the front suspension could not work in harmony with the upgraded rear – so they changed the front too.
The next two cars that made Car and Driver’s Top 10 list are actually Mazda’s! First is the Mazda3. Mazda has recently been churning out great cars, and 2015 will seemingly be no different. The 2015 Mazda3 is sleek, stylish, and fun to drive. The Mazda3 is a part of the compact sedan or hatchback category and we have tons here at Preston Mazda in Hurlock, Maryland. The Mazda3 will achieve about 30MPG city and over 40MPG highway! Plus you can seat 5 people with all of their gear as well. It’s a fun little sporty car that should be at the top of anyone’s list.
Finally, the 2015 Mazda6 at Preston Mazda is the third car to make the top ten list. The 2015 Mazda6 has a distinct sporty design, outstanding fuel economy, and tons of options. One of the optional items available in the 2015 Mazda6 Grand Touring is i-Eloop. This is an energy capture system and stands for Intelligent Energy Loop. What this new technology does is stores energy captured during deceleration and uses it for things such as lighting, AC, etc. With this available technology package the Mazda6 Grand Touring has topped out at over 40mpg highway!
