You can personalize your MyFord Touch Screen in your Ford vehicle in a few simple steps. Personalizing the screen gives your Ford that extra touch that adds a special feature to it.
The steps are very simple and remember that at Preston Ford we offer Tech Saturdays where we can assist you in setting up your wallpaper. Tech Saturdays are the second Saturday of every month. Be sure to come out and learn about all the technology that is available in your Ford vehicle.
The first step to changing your background is to load your favorite wallpaper images on to your USB drive. Make sure the file is the right size. The optimal resolution for your MyFord Touch screen is 800×384 and the file size limit is 1.5 mb. As long as you are within these limits your picture should be perfect!
Next, you should insert the USB drive into the USB port in your vehicle, this is located in the center consoles of most Fords except in the Explorers where it is located under the dash. Now you should select the “Settings” button on your main screen. This button looks like a cog wheel. Under the settings menu select the “Display button. Once you have selected the “Display” button now you want to select “Edit Wallpaper” At this point you should select “Add”. From your USB drive select which photos you would like to import. This step will not set the image as your background quite yet but it will copy the images onto your MyFord Touch system. When all the images have been uploaded that you desire hit the back arrow and highlight the image you would like to use as your wallpaper and then hit “Save”. Now you can select the “Home” button and your saved image will now appear!

The other individual should involve their insurance company as well just to be safe. The first step you should take when rear ended is to make sure that you and anyone in your vehicle is ok. Once you have checked yourself out and the others in the vehicle you should get out of the vehicle and make sure the other person is ok as well.
Once these steps are completed we recommend that you ask for the other parties contact information as well as insurance information. It is up to both parties if the police wish to be called. The general rule is that you don’t have to call the police if both parties are uninjured and there appears to be no damage over a specified amount. After you have gotten the other parties insurance information that is involved you should contact your insurance company as soon as possible. This allows you to be able to get your car repaired. Often insurance companies will want to ask you a lot of question about the incident. The other party’s insurance company might call you as well to verify things.

2015 Hyundai Genesis
The 2015 Hyundai Genesis is expected to be available in the Spring of 2014. Hyundai set out to create an even smarter all-wheel drive system. HTRAC is the result of tireless testing, tweaking and evaluation on the famous German test track. The new Genesis also has intelligent drive mode. There are normal, sport, eco and snow modes which alter steering, transmission, throttle and suspension to give you control which is tailored to each environment and condition.
The 2015 Genesis is also to no surprise an extremely safe vehicle. It has an automatic emergency braking system. This system uses both cameras and radar sensors to aide safety. In fog, rain or any other extreme condition the Gensis can see what is happening up ahead and alert you of danger. If a crash is imminent and the driver doesn’t react, the system deploys Automatic Emergency Braking. They system can even apply full brake force stopping power from 5 to 50 mph. This gives you an added element of safety. The 2015 Genesis also comes with lane departure warning with lane keep assist. This automatically detects when a driver has difficulty staying in their lane and helps by using gentle steering compensation about 43 mph. The Genesis will even provide feedback through steering wheel vibration when the vehicle drifts outside the lane without signaling. Also, the lane departure warning will alert the driver with an audio cue or a visual warning on the heads-up display. In order to increase awareness on the road the Genesis employs a radar system to detech when a vehicle is in the driver’s blind spot or in the rear cross path while backing up. The system also provides both an audio and a visual alert to keep you aware at all times. There is also no need to constantly adjust your cruise control. With smart cruise control the Genesis will automatically adjust its speed based on the vehicle in front of you. It can even come to a full stop and then start again without any driver input. Nine airbags help protect you from all areas in the Genesis. Even the driver’s knees have their own airbag!
There is a lot of technology in the 2015 Genesis that is all at convenience for you! The first being the smart trunk with auto open. The Genesis’ trunk will automatically open when you stand within 3 feet behind the vehicle with the key for more than three seconds. You do not need to wave or kick your feet in order to engage. The Genesis has a totally new automotive system that is designed to sense carbon dioxide levels in the cabin of the vehicle. As it is being driven carbon dioxide naturally builds. The Genesis CO2 sensor automatically activates the ventilation system to add fresh air to the cabin. The guessing is now over when it comes to which tire needs more air in it. The genesis intelligently indicates exactly which tire is low on air.
The Genesis is a high quality with features you won’t see in anything else. The panoramic sunroof offers views of the skyline by opening up completely from front to back seat. There is also ventilated seats with power bolster and a cushion extender. This allows each driver to find the ideal comfortable position by injecting air to bolster the seat and extending for further leg support. The wood trim adds to the overall aesthetic of the vehicle. The interior is elegantly with features that everyone can appreciate.

The American Heart Association has named February 7, 2014 National Wear Red Day and encourages everyone to Go Red for Women. Heart disease is the number one killer of women in the United States. It claims more lives than all forms of cancer combined. For more than 10 years, the American Heart Association has sponsored National Wear Red Day to raise awareness in the fight against heart disease in women.
In 2003, the American Heart Association and the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute took action against a disease that was claiming the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year. Many women weren’t paying attention to this disease because to this day women believe that this disease affects mostly men. National Wear Red Day is held on the first Friday in Feruary every year to raise awareness for heart disease.
Today marks the 11th year anniversary of this event. This day has accomplished a lot. In the past 11 years 21 percent fewer women are dying from heart disease. Even better is the fact that 23 percent more women are aware that Heart Disease is their number one health threat.
There are many healthy habits which help to prevent heart disease. The first one is to quit smoking, we all know smoking is bad for your health so why still smoke? Another healthy habit is consistent exercise! Regular physical activity has many benefits such as helping you quit smoking, lose weight, reduce stress, lower blood pressure and increase HDL cholesterol. Make sure to also manage your stress. It is important to recognize how stress affects you and how you can deal with it. Another healthy habit is to eat healthy! If you do not know what it means to eat healthy then do your research! They are a lot of resources out there that can help you learn!

Komen Organization, a local group called Saving Second Base raises money for this organization and the Preston Automotive Group sponsors their events as well as helps raise money for them. Preston Automotive Group will also be hosting the 2014 Mid Shore Walk for the March of Dimes. Preston Automotive Group has also been involved with the Delmarva Shorebirds, Parks and Recs Programs, Paddlefest, Travel Baseball, Toys For Tots, Bears that Care, Operation White Tail, Kidney Foundation, Caroline County Humane Society and many more.

Preston Nissan is ecstatic about the arrival of the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid. They have been waiting for this for a while now and couldn’t be more excited that the Hybrid has finally arrived. The Pathfinder Hybrids are equipped with a supercharged 2.5 liter four cylinder engine, an electric motor, Nissan’s Xtronic CVT and a lithium ion battery pack. The 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid gets 25/28 city/hwy mpg. This is great fuel economy for an SUV, Preston Nissan feels this is one of the many great features on the new 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid. One of the great things about the Pathfinder Hybrid is that there aren’t many vehicles like it out there. It has entered a pretty empty space in the automotive market which is one of the reasons why it is so special. There are only three other three-row crossovers available with a hybrid version.
No other SUV in the Pathfinder Hybrids class gives the customer the choice of 2WD, 4WD and Auto Modes. The auto mode senses slippery roads or rough terrain and automatically adjusts power to each wheel. When the terrain becomes smoother the Hybrid will switch back to 2WD.
A new feature that is in the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid is the around view monitor. Using four cameras the class-exclusive around view monitor creates a composite image of the Pathfinder from above and displays it on the touch screen monitor. This visually shows the vehicles position relative to the lines around the parking spaces and adjacent objects. This allows the driver to maneuver into parking places with more ease. This also allows the driver to watch out for pedestrians walking behind or beside the vehicle.
Preston Nissan finds the next feature to be extra special. The Tri-Zone entertainment is great for adults and children. The front passengers can enjoy listening to music while the second row passengers can watch movies, play video games, and plug in a laptop all on dual 7-inch DVD monitors while listening on two wireless headsets. The best part about this system is that it can be controlled through the fron screen display on the dashboard.
The Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid is the evolution of safety. The vehicle has a great feature called vehicle dynamic control. This monitors steering and braking. If needed it responds by reducing engine output and/or applying brake pressure to specific wheels where needed. The Pathfinder also has an anti-lock braking system. In a panic situation the ABS is able to pump the brakes faster than the driver can which helps to prevent wheel lockup and allows the driver to continue to steer while braking heavily. It also has a great Traction Control System. This means the driver won’t be wasting energy just spinning the tires. When the vehicle senses drive-wheel spin it responds by reducing throttle or applying brake pressure to specific wheels.

Caroline County Humane Society is doing a dinner and dance this Saturday February 8, 2014 as a fundraiser! The event will take place at the Denton Volunteer Co. Fire Hall from 6-11 p.m. The Denton Volunteer Fire Hall is located on South Fifth Avenue in Denton, Maryland. The cost is $35 dollars per person. All proceeds will support the Caroline County Humane Society. This will be a fun event for people of all ages!
The Chesapeake Culinary Center will be providing the food for the occasion. The menu includes meat carving stations, appetizer station, pasta station and a dessert bar. The appetizer station will feature hot spinach dip, cranberry meatballs, and sausage and cheese wontons. The pasta station will have an array of pastas as well as red or white sauce. Also at the pasta station is Caesar salad and foccia bread. The dessert bar will have desserts such as chocolate fondue dip for strawberries, oreo cookies or cream puffs.
There will be music DJ Matt Spence! There will also be a Texas Hold-em table where everyone can try their luck at poker! Another exciting activity is the cake/liquor wheel! Participants will place money on the number of their choice and when the wheel is spun the number that the wheel lands on is the winner. The winner will then get their choice of cake or liquor. There will also be a live auction and silent auction. Everything made from the auction will go to Caroline County Humane Society. A cash bar will be present at the event for the adults to enjoy.
This a great opportunity for everyone to come out and support the Caroline County Humane Society! Preston Automotive Group is excited to be able to sponsor an event which supports our local animals who currently don’t have homes. You can also help by donating items and money to the Caroline County Humane Society. They could always use food and warm blankets for the animals. Another great way to help is to adopt a pet or foster a pet through the Caroline County Humane Society.
