Nissan has recently teamed up with Amazon to generate sales leads for the new Versa Note hatch. The Nissan Versa Note has its own product page on Amazon.com. Instead of the normal “add to cart” option as you would see with any other product page on Amazon you will see a button that says “learn more” Once “learn more” has been clicked enter your information on the product page and you will be paired with a local Nissan dealer to complete the transaction. The first 100 buyers will score a $1,000 amazon gift card. Automotive news also reports that three customers will actually have their orders fulfilled by Nissan and the cars will arrive in a large Amazon box accompanied by a film crew. This could be the first step towards buying a vehicle strictly online!

Since the government shut down yesterday more than 800,000 federal employees could be furloughed without pay until a deal is reached to start the government back up. Why is there a government shutdown? The short answer to this question is there are wide swaths of the federal government that need to be funded each year in order to operate. If Congress can’t agree on how to fund them, they have to close down. At this moment, Congress can’t agree on how to fund them so there is a government shutdown. Not all government operations will evaporate but, many federal agencies will shut their doors and send their employees home, from the Environmental Protection Agency to hundreds of national parks. Hyundai is helping these employees cope with the temporary layoffs.
Hyundai announced yesterday October 1, 2013 their plan to defer all auto loan and lease payments during the federal government shutdown for current Hyundai owners who are on a leave of absence. Hyundai owners who are on a leave of absence will not have to make payments as long as they are out of work. Hyundai also announced that any furloughed workers who buy a car in the month of October their payments will be deferred for 90 days.
John Krafcik, president and CEO of Hyundai Motor America said “we recognize the impact on family budgets that the furlough will drive, like we did almost four years ago when we launched Hyundai Assurance , this is our way of saying ‘We’ve got your back’ during this uncertain time”.

GPS Safety
Having a navigation system can be one of the biggest conveniences when going out of town or on long road trips. However, this convenience opens up many security risks that didn’t exist before navigation came about. A GPS device left mounted in your car could be an indicator to a thief that there might be other material wealth. Even if your navigation system is contained in your touch screen monitor that is now located in many cars, there is still a risk of theft. Thieves target nicer cars with GPS systems in them and when they break into the vehicle they can access all the places you have put into your navigation system. This includes your home address if you have saved that into your navigation system. A thief who picks his/her target carefully knows you’re not going to be back at the car for a while and won’t be home for some time either, according to the Department of Justice. Burglars gain confidence when they can be certain that the owner won’t be home to call the police. For example, say there is a ball game that has just started, a burglar can assume you will not be to your car or home within a few hours giving them an opportunity to do as they please and take what they can find. Being able to take your GPS and pull up your home address undisturbed, gives a robber this confidence.
Navigation System
If you have a GPS device such as a Garmin or one that can be removed from your vehicle you should get in the habit of removing your GPS from the vehicle every time you leave. If it is too big to fit into your purse you can put it into your glove box or under your seat. Be sure not to leave your GPS in plain sight you would not leave your Smartphone or tablet in the car for someone to see. If you can see marks from the mount on your windshield you should wipe them off so a burglar doesn’t know you have a gps.
If you cannot secure your device, if it is in your dash in your monitor then do not put your home address under the tab “Home”. Instead under the home tab you can put the address of something near your home such as a police station, this way if someone steals your car they cannot find out where you live. Make sure that the destination is far enough away but still close so that you still know how to get home. Some GPS manufacturers have devices that require pins in order to gain access into the controls. If you can drive safely by using your Smartphone for GPS then you can certainly do that. Most people will not leave their phones or tablets in their cars but often will leave their GPS on the dash not thinking about the possible dangers. Another idea to keep in mind is that if your car is stolen and you have your home address in the system and your garage door opener in the vehicle, the theft can access your house through your garage door opener. Make sure to take precautions when entering your home address into any device that can be stolen, if you do choose to enter it into your GPS device or navigation system then make sure the address is not labeled as “home”.

Millsboro Automart Groundbreaking
The Groundbreaking for the new building at Millsboro Automart took place on Tuesday September 24, 2013. Millsboro Automart is still open for business during the construction of the new building. The new state of the art building is expected to be finished by January 1, 2014. The new building will be a retro-style. The interior will feature signs, memorabilia and also pictures of Millsboro’s past in the Automotive Industry. The new building will be approximately 6400 square feet and contain six service bays! Millsboro will also have over 150 used cars and trucks so that their customers are sure to find the perfect car for them!

Hyundai Concept Cars of the Future
HND-9
Hyundai Motor Company unveiled a striking two door concept coupe called the HND-9 which is on display at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show! The carmaker’s luxury sports coupe concept hints at the second generation Genesis Coupe which will come out in the 2014 or 2015 Model Year.

The HND-9 concept was styled at Hyundai’s research and development center in Namyang, Korea the latest concept measures 4,695mm long, 1,890mm wide, 1340mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2860mm. The dramatic exterior represents an evolution of the well known “Fluidic Sculpture” design philosophy which has been implemented to all the latest Hyundai models.
The exterior design of the HND-9 features a long hood with the wide Hyundai hexagonal signature grille and sleek side character lines with Lamborghini-like butterfly doors. The vehicle also incorporates futuristic dual tailpipes which are placed on each side of the rear bumper. Twenty-two inch alloy wheels complete the futuristic look of the HND-9 sports coupe concept.
The luxurious interior features a plethora of high tech features and was designed to offer functionality and optimized for dynamic driving. The HND-9 is fitted with sporty seats which project different colors depending on the angle they are seen from.
The Hyundai HND-9 sports coupe concept sits on a rear wheel drive platform which will be used as a base for the forth coming second generation Hyundai Genesis Coupe
Underneath the hood of the HND-9 concept lies a highly advanced 3,3L T-GDI turbocharged engine with a maximum output of 370 horsepower. With the highly potent V6 engine is an 8-speed automatic transmission which sends the power from the engine to the rear wheels.

Another concept car is the Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis concept. This concept car points directly to the next Genesis premium sedan. As with the current Genesis, the HCD-14 Genesis uses the well known 5.0 liter Tau V-8 engine. In the concept the engines fire up as soon as the car acknowledges the driver using an optical recognition system. The concepts ceramic lined exhaust system is tuned for minimum back pressure at rpm and to emit a baritone roar.

The HCD-14 Genesis is also filled with some electronic innovations that help the driver focus on the road rather than the controls. It is equipped with a system that tracks the movement of the driver’s eyes and hands. This concept car has exceptionally clean interior with flowing lines and beautifully sculptured surfaces. Kickin Kids Cancer Kickball Tournament and Festival in Centreville, Maryland Sponsored by Preston Ford!
This Saturday September 21, 2013 Overtime Live has joined Preston Ford and the Seven Seas Yacht Service to give everyone a chance to fight back against cancer at the Route 18 Park in Centreville, Maryland! The Kickin Kids Cancer Kickball Tournament and Festival will be a day of fun starting with the inaugural kick ball tournament. The kickball tournament involves 16 teams and is double elimination! The first round of kickball games will begin at 9 a.m. and the championship game will take place at 6 p.m. There will also be a classic car/truck/race car show, a tricky tray auction, silent auction and of course live entertainment! The entertainment will start at 8:55 a.m. with Katelynn Cherry and move on to Robert Dunmyer, Hot Tub Limo, Radio Edit, Acoustic Roots, and lastly Sean’s Pietras and Soundbelief! From 1 p.m. until 3p.m, Compass Point Mortgage presents the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders! There will also be plenty of activities for the children such as games, moon bounces, and face painting! If you get hungry there will also be plenty of vendors on site as well!
In 2009 Kick-It was founded by 10 year old cancer patient Quinn Clarke who had a big dream to cure cancer by playing kickball. Then in 2012, Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation teamed up with Kick-It to help promote and raise funds for the most promising research studies and projects. By being and important part of the fight to cure childhood cancer, just like a walk or 5k race, team members ask family, friends, and co-workers to sponsor them to play. Bring your “A” game and childhood memories of kickball to help children beat cancer! Awards will go to both the championship winning team and the team that manages to raise the most money. Special awards will go to the highest finishing high school and Emergency Personnel teams.
Funds raised benefit children’s cancer research across the country. Kick-It partners with national medical advisory boards to identify the most promising research studies and projects. Some projects include a study of malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors at Harvard Medical College; The Children’s Tumor Foundation, Clinical research of the Children’s Oncology Group which reaches 90 percent of the children with cancer in the United States. Kick-It has once simple goal and that is to accelerate the cure for children with cancer. They believe no parent should have to watch a child wait for a cure. By organizing a game, joining a team or making a donation you are helping thousands of children fighting cancer in your hometown and across the country.
To Donate: You can donate to a particular kickball player, to a specific team or simply donate to this wonderful organization. You will then be considered a virtual player for your kindness! You can also donate in honor of someone special, or in memory of a loved one. Your donation will be acknowledged publicly at this kickball event. A $50 donation for a non-player will get you a free event t-shirt.
