Bringing My Car to College: Yes or No?

It’s that time of year again: back to school. Some are back already and some have a couple more weeks of summer vacation left. But there’s one main consideration that you have to think about: Should I bring my car to college? Of course everyone would like to have a car on campus, but is it allowed or is it practical? We’ll help you see the pro’s and con’s of whether or not you should bring your car with you.First of all, are you even allowed to have one on campus? That will depend on where you’re attending. Some will flat out not allow freshman or upperclassmen to bring a car with them. Others will allow it, but students will be required to purchase a parking pass. Typically information like this can be found on the college or university’s website, so you will want to make sure you know their policy before you get there for move-in. bringing a car to collegeCost is another important thing to think about. Many college students are on an Easy Mac and Ramen-Noodle type of budget, so gas, repairs, parking permits, and other costs are out of the question. If this is the case then maybe you should leave the car at home. If you are going to bring it make sure you have some money saved up for these unexpected costs which include parking tickets don't forget. car to college hurry caneFind out about alternative transportation options too. Many campuses will have a school-operated shuttle system. They even get creative with the names too. For instance, the University of Miami has the Hurry ‘Canes shuttles, and students at UCLA can take the BruinBus. These options can be particularly helpful in urban settings such as D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia or New York City.car to college bruinbusSo you have to weigh your options to see if it would in fact be worth it to bring your car to college. If you need it to get you to-and-from a job or your parents house, then by all means take it. But we suggest that you enjoy your college days without one of the major responsibilities of adulthood: Car ownership.

"I am honored and humbled to serve Ford and the Ford Dealer Body,” said Wilson. “Together, we will continue to build on Ford’s truck leadership, Ford Blue, Ford Pro, and Model e. It’s an exciting time, and Ford's product lineup is second to none, in my opinion.” Wilson succeeds Tim Hovik, Owner/General Manager of Top 100 Ford dealer San Tan Ford in Gilbert, Ariz. Edward Marcel Stivers III was named the Vice Chairman alongside Wilson. “The National Dealer Council Chair position is so critical to our engagement with our dealer network,” said Andrew Frick, President, Ford Blue. “Dave, in this role, will represent the voice of nearly 3,000 Ford dealers across the country. I think Dave is perfectly positioned to have this role, as he is a very successful Ford dealer, and has eight Ford dealerships of different sizes that truly reflect the structure of the entire network. The Future is Bright “Dave’s approach of working together to drive our business forward is so important in this very dynamic industry, and I have total confidence in his ability to lead our dealers and work with Ford to improve our position in the market with a focus on our customers,” added Frick. The Ford National Dealer Council represents all Ford dealerships in the United States, and works closely with Ford Motor Company, Model e (electric vehicle division of Ford), Ford Credit, and Ford Pro. The elected council’s objective is to enhance customer experience at Ford dealers and seek innovative ways to evolve sales and service offerings for the brand. Our Proud Ford Family “Ford is committed to serving their customers, and this group will help drive that forward,” said Wilson. “Treating our customers like family will help to strengthen our sales and service offerings and increase loyalty for the Ford brand. We are #BuiltFordProud.” Preston Ford, a Top 100 Ford Dealer for the last 10 years, is one of eight total Ford rooftops under PAG, including Pittsville Ford on Route 50 just outside Salisbury, which also boasts a Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center. Wilson became a first-generation dealer at age 22 when he founded PAG and the original Preston Ford location in Preston. “PAG is a family business that I am proud to say my family heavily participates in, and we also feel like every PAG associate is part of our family,” said Wilson. “The opportunity to serve as Chair of the Ford Dealer Council is a testament to their hard work, as well.” Caring for Our Community The familiar Preston emblem can be seen on cars throughout the Shore. PAG customers proudly display the monthly Preston Frog given in honor of that month’s charitable organization with the purchase of any vehicle. These organizations include causes such as Breast Cancer Awareness, American Heart Association, Save the Bay, and programs to provide lunch to local school children. The charitable work is done through the Wilson Family Community Foundation, which Wilson launched in 2019 with his wife, Peggy Wilson. 2019 Ford Expedition Named A KBB 'Best Buy' Winner

“The 2019 Ford Expedition has moved away from the ideas of the traditional full-size SUV, advancing the segment in the process.” - Kelley Blue Book Kelley Blue Book recently released its “2019 Best Buy Winners” list, and the team at Preston Automotive Group is proud to say that the 2019 Ford Expedition is the winner for the Full-Size SUV category. KBB judges were thoroughly impressed by the ruggedness, performance, versatility, and comfort of this highly-popular SUV model, and we can’t blame them. The teams at Boulevard Ford of Georgetown, Boulevard Ford of Lewes, Denton Ford, Preston Ford, Pittsville Ford, and Rtown Ford are impressed by the 2019 Expedition and how it perfectly accommodates the needs of your passengers. It has a standard 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine that can deliver a jaw-dropping 375 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft. of torque whenever you need it. Since you deserve an SUV model that has impeccable hauling strength, the 2019 Ford Expedition has a shocking maximum towing capacity of 9,300 lbs. to easily handle whatever you need to pull. These performance statistics are just some of the many reasons why the 2019 Ford Expedition is one of the most sought-after SUV models in its class. Judges at Kelley Blue Book were really impressed by how maneuverable and nimble the 2019 Ford Expedition is considering its size. This is achieved by a large amount of high-strength aluminum engineered within the body of this SUV model and the tough high-strength steel in its frame. According to KBB, these are “innovations that caused the underpinnings and sheet metal to weigh less.” These factors allow the 2019 Expedition to make its way around tight corners or unexpected twists in the road without any concern. This SUV is able to seat up to 8 people and still have ample room for your supplies. Overall, we at PAG fully agree with the KBB judges about how outstanding the 2019 Ford Expedition truly is. But don’t just take our word for it. Visit any of our Ford dealerships and test drive one today!
