Drive To Inspire PAG

PAG: 2016 Driven to Inspire Event

Say you’re at one of your favorite local Delmarva events and you see a giant, pink 2016 Ford F-150. Your first instinct might not be to take out a market and sign it, but that is exactly what you should do to be a part of Preston Automotive Group’s (PAG) Driven to Inspire event happening all year long! That bright pink truck is going to be all over Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia spreading breast cancer awareness in the name of Susan G. Komen and Preston Ford. So if you see that pink F-150, make sure you sign it because each signature means a donation to Team Wonder Women in support of the Susan G. Komen foundation at the end of the year. You will be able to sign the vehicle free of charge, costing only the ink in the pen and the care in your heart. Where can you find our Driven to Inspire F-150? Well, it will be at tons of local events all over Delmarva, including most of the breast cancer awareness affairs in this area. The local March of Dimes, the home and garden show in April, our own “Drive One 4 Ur School” event here at Preston Ford, and the Sportsman Bash at the Mardela Fire Hall are just a few of the places that you’ll find our pink symbol of hope. We are proud to thank Saving Second Base & Team Wonder Women, Adams Radio Group, and WRDE TV for helping us put on this incredible awareness-raising event. So remember, if you see the fluorescent pink 2016 F-150 at any one of your local Delmarva events, write your signature and an inspiration message to accompany it. The more people sign the vehicle, the more donations will go to spreading awareness of the dangers of breast cancer. Join us in inspiring hope in the fight against breast cancer! Preston Ford Receives Award for Fighting Against Cancer

With all the efforts Preston Ford has made in the past several years to raise awareness about breast cancer, they were nominated and chosen by the Colors of Cancer Committee to receive the 2016 Community Partnership Honoree Award. The Colors of Cancer is a local organization that recognizes our local heroes of Talbot County! The organization’s committee receives nominations from people in the community to honor hometown heroes, which include: medical professional honorees,  community partnership honorees, volunteer honorees and honorary chairs. The Preston Automotive Group has strong ties to breast cancer. Our Executive Vice President, Peggy Wilson, and our Vice President’s Executive Assistant, Diana Vincent, both have been touched by breast cancer. So, every year Preston Ford does several things to support the fight against cancer. For instance, this year they donated $100 for every vehicle sold out of each of their 10 dealerships in the Auto Group from October 14th-17th to the American Cancer Society. They also usually have an event called Paint the Plex Pink sometime in October. This year it had to be canceled because of an unexpected power outage, but usually we will have music, food and games for kids and adults. Everyone is encouraged to come dressed in pink and it is a good time all while raising awareness and money to fight breast cancer The Preston Auto Group has also been giving out pink frogs instead of the regular green frogs throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October). You know how the NFL encourages its players to wear pink shoes, gloves, socks, etc. during the month of October? Well, that’s what we do here at Preston. Our employees are all encouraged to wear pink as well as give a away the pink frogs with every vehicle purchase. All year long we even have a fleet of five Ford trucks and vans wrapped in pink driving around to our various dealerships and events we are sponsoring. In Colors of Cancer’s sixth year, Chairwoman Michele Williams of Trappe, MD, is happy to award Preston Ford. We have been in the area for over three decades and we try hard to make a difference in our community. We are very pleased to receive this award from the Colors of Cancer. The 2016 Colors of Cancer Gala will be on April 2, 2016 at the Tred Avon Yacht Club, in Oxford Maryland. Tickets can be purchased on the Colors of Cancer Website if more people would like to attend the Gala to see Preston Ford receive our Award. The Gala is a plated and served meal with a silent auction and will be from 6 pm-10 pm.

preston frog super bowl commercials

2015 Preston Automotive Group Super Bowl Commercials

It’s that time of year again for the big game – Super Bowl XLIX.  As you know this game will be played between the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks on Sunday February 1, 2015.  We know there will certainly be a ton of viewers glued to their televisions on Sunday night.  Last year 167 Million people watched the big game, making it the most watched television broadcast in U.S. history, overtaking the Super Bowl from two years prior by approximately 200,000 viewers.  Bottom line, this year’s game is projected to set a new record and advertisers have certainly taken notice. Historically, people watch the broadcast for the Super Bowl Commercials as much as the actual game sometimes.  The commercials have been getting funnier and more creative each and every year.  This year Preston Automotive Group will have three Super Bowl Commercials featured on NBC – WRDE.  We were inspired this year by the service men and women in our communities.  From Firefighters to Police Officers, EMS to Military Personnel, we wanted to form our message around you; thanking you for everything you do for us.  We created Preston Cares in order to convey this message to you. Preston Cares is our way of saying thank you to our local community.  It is because of you that we are still in business.  “Our customers give so much to us that we are happy to give back to the community,” says Dave Wilson, Preston Automotive Group President, “We were excited to produce these special Super Bowl Commercials to thank all of you on Delmarva and beyond.”  Not only do we love our customers, we love our local communities and try to be involved as much as possible.  Preston Cares supports the local communities that each of our dealerships live in.  From Little League Baseball teams to Supporting the Fight Against Breast Cancer, we truly believe that together we can do more. So, when you see our Super Bowl Commercials this year be sure to remember that you, our valued customers, are of key importance to Preston Automotive Group’s success.  Thank you again!

Preston Automotive Group American Cancer Society

Preston Automotive Group's Large Donation to Breast Cancer Awareness

I want to take you back to last month, which was Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and a crazy time for Preston Automotive Group.  We decided to partner up with the American Cancer Society (ACS) and committed to donating $50 for every vehicle sold at any one of our nine locations all month long.  We also got our three body shops involved and committed 2% of their sales during the month of October to our overall ACS donation.  Preston Automotive Group has been a huge supporter of Breast Cancer Awareness as it has affected many of our own employees and families, and this donation campaign was our way of showing that they were not fighting alone – we were United For A Cure.  (Check out all the facts about the ACS in the infographic below.) In addition to our donation to the American Cancer society, Preston Automotive Group employees wore “Pink” all month long to show support and for the first time ever, Preston created a pink frog.  Customers traditionally receive a green Preston frog with every vehicle purchase.  So during October 2014, pink frogs were given to help show support in the fight against Breast Cancer. Preston Automotive Group also created its first ever “Pink” fleet that consisted of a 2015 Ford Transit, two 2014 Ford Transit Connects, and a 2013 Ford Transit Connect.  These vehicles were wrapped in pink to also aide in Breast Cancer Awareness.  A 2014 Ford F-150 was also wrapped as this year’s Drive to Inspire vehicle.  The Drive to Inspire campaign was started with Comcast Spotlight and Saving Second Base. As a whole, Preston Automotive Group had a goal of raising a whopping $40,000 for the ACS.  To do that we knew we would have to sell a combined 800 cars throughout our nine dealerships.  It was a lofty goal, but we knew it could be achieved with hard work.  So, with Breast Cancer Awareness Month all wrapped up, we are ready to announce our donation total.  We donated a grand total of $38,500 to the American Cancer Society – only falling $1,500 short of our goal.  We were still extremely happy with the efforts of our team and customers who helped us get to that amount. We look forward to doing this again next year and raising even more money and awareness about breast cancer.  Until then be on the look out for any one of our “Pink Fleet” Trucks around the Delmarva area and give us a “Honk” to show your support for the fight against breast cancer!

Vehicle Safety and Recall Awareness

Vehicle recalls are something that happen more often than you might think, but owners may not always know their recalled vehicle needs to be repaired.  Just to be clear, I’m not referring to any major recalls like the Toyota sticking gas pedal incident or the Firestone tires on Ford SUV’s because of course those are recalls that everyone hears about on national news.  I’m talking about those smaller recalls that just about every car brand has at one time or another for things such as faulty airbags or switches for example.  So, it is just as important to know about the little recalls as it is to know about the larger ones because they are both threats to your safety.  And now there is any easy way to keep up on those threats with safercar.gov. Safercar.gov is a government website run by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration ( NHTSA).  This site exists solely to inform consumers on everything to do with vehicle safety.  From recalls, to investigations, even to common complaints – safercar.gov is the catch-all site to ensure you and your family are safe in your vehicle. There are a couple ways to see if your car is on a recall list.  You could search as specifically as the VIN number or as general as the vehicle year, make, and model.  Regardless of how dependable your make of car usually is, everyone should take a look at this site anyway.  It’s fast, simple and you have nothing to lose except about thirty seconds of your time.  However, if you do end up finding something about your car involving a recalled item, then I’ll bet you’ll be glad you checked.  And even more than that, taking a couple seconds to check for your car could save your life or many others. If you got your car, truck, or SUV from Preston Automotive Group and it turns out to have a recall, no matter how small or large, you can be sure that one of our three auto body shops – in Preston, Snow Hill, or Cambridge – will be able to help get you in-and-out and safely back on the road.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This month is breast cancer and everyone is doing what they can to support breast cancer and help find a cure.  Ford Warriors in Pink just recently unveiled a limited edition t-shirt which was designed by actor  Gilles Marini.  This t-shirt is available now at www.fordcares.com.  One hundred percent of the net proceeds will go to the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation which is dedicated to finding the cause of breast cancer in order to stop the disease before it starts. Ford Warriors in Pink The Ford commitment to breast cancer awareness runs well beyond raising funds.  2013, is Ford’s 19 th year of support and dedication to making a difference 365 days a year by encouraging women to become informed and visit their doctors and educating them about how early detection saves lives. Ford created the limited edition Warrior in Pink apparel and accessory items for women, men and children.  Each of the apparel items feature important symbols signifying a message of hope, strength and unity in the commitment to fight breast cancer.  Ford has dedicated more the $120 million to the cause. The Pink Fishing Truck and Preston Automotive Groups Pink Drive to Inspire Truck Preston Automotive Group has sponsored Saving Second Base which is a breast cancer awareness fundraiser.  Saving Second Base has held many events in the past.  One of them included a concert featuring Billy Currington, David Nail and the Eastern Shore’s own Eric Karge.  At this event which was held on June 1, 2013 there was also a live auction.  Saving Second Base donates their proceeds from their events to the American Cancer Society.  The event held June 1, 2013 raised $80,000 for breast cancer! Preston Automotive group has also sponsored Ryan Abey and Pink Fishing: Reeling for a Cure.  Pink Fishing is a woman owned company.  Their Pink Fishing logo incorporates the breast cancer awareness ribbon as the “P” in pink.  Pink Fishing is part of the solution to finding a cure, they are “Reeling in the Cure” one t-shirt at a time.  They have committed to make a donation of $5,000 dollars to the National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc. for the year of 2013 and have happily surpassed this goal! Paul went bald and pink! On Friday April 5, 2013 Preston Automotive Group held a “Go Bald or Go Pink” in support of one of our own who was diagnosed with cancer.  At this event people went bald and shaved their heads or women could get a pink feather  in their hair to support breast cancer.  The amount of support was amazing.  Most men shaved their heads to show their support.  There was also Zumba at the event and vendors to support all the hungry guests! Preston Automotive Group is excited to announce that we are holding an event on November 9, 2013 from noon until 4 p.m. for breast cancer awareness.  The event is being called "Paint the Plex Pink"  Come out and show your support and don't forget to wear pink!
