Ready to bring about a major revolution to the future of the automotive world, Ford has announced it will bring an entirely fresh lineup of incredible cars, trucks and SUV models to its customers in 2020. A news release states that Ford will replace more than 75 percent of its current vehicle portfolio and add new four trucks and SUV models. One major component of Ford’s decision will be to offer hybrid-electric versions of the Ford F-150, Ford Mustang, Ford Explorer, Ford Escape and the all-new Ford Bronco that will have even more capabilities and features for Ford lovers to enjoy. The news release also states that all new Ford vehicles will have 4G LTE connectivity by the end of 2019. "Dodge already leads the police pursuit sedan business with the proven Charger Pursuit,” explained Steve Beahm, Head of Passenger Car Brands – Dodge//SRT, Chrysler, and FIAT, FCA in North America, “...and we believe the 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit SUV will expand our appeal to an even broader audience and take our game to the next level in terms of performance.” The 2019 Dodge Durango Pursuit recently debuted at the National Sheriffs’ Association Show in New Orleans, changing the landscape of first responder SUV models. This vehicle will be available this summer and is sure to enhance the way law enforcement agencies get around. The new Dodge Durango Pursuit features a completely revamped front fascia complete with integrated brake-cooling air ducts in order to bring you improved durability and braking. This Durango Pursuit boosts both your stability and control via the load-leveling, performance-tuned suspension. Forces will be able to pick between the standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine, getting 293 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque, and the available 5.7L HEMI V8 engine, getting you a best-in-class 360 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. The Durango Pursuit comes outfitted with a two-speed transfer case for low-range off-roading capability and larger anti-brakes that are more heavy duty. This lets these brakes have a 60-0 MPH stopping distance of just 134 feet. Additional features include the ParkView rear backup camera featuring ParkSense, 800 cold cranking amp (CCA) battery for the V8 engine only, as well as the 13.8-inch front and 13-inch rear pursuit-rated braking package. The V8 version of this model is also equipped with the most technologically advanced AWD system in the segment, along with a segment-exclusive active transfer case in order to enhance the vehicle’s fuel efficiency. Last year saw the launch of the Talbot Goes Purple campaign, a focused effort to inspire our local communities to stand up and fight back against substance abuse. Our team at the Preston Automotive Group is proud to support the efforts of this initiative and to say that that the second annual Talbot Goes Purple campaign will kick off September 1st. Running for the entire month, there will be “purple clubs” in our local high schools that feature information and resources about how harmful abusing drugs or alcohol can be, how to help someone you know who suffers from addiction and more. These clubs will help show our youth that they do not need drugs or alcohol in their lives. You can also expect to see other events, and plenty of purple lights, all throughout the county. Here at the Preston Automotive Group, we are beyond excited to do our part in encouraging this important initiative, and we urge our customers to wear purple, decorate their businesses in purple and show other signs of support for this amazing initiative. However, it is not just Talbot County that will be going purple for the month of September this year. Dorchester, Caroline, Kent and Queen Anne’s counties are all joining in to promote conversations on the epidemic of substance abuse — especially opioid and prescription painkiller abuse — that is sweeping through the Eastern Shore and what actions can be taken to stop it. Sussex County in Delaware will be joining in this effort as well. These other counties are using the Talbot Goes Purple campaign as an inspiration for their own initiatives and will be holding their own events such as walks, movie showings, talks and much more. An article by Engadget states that this shift means that Ford’s trucks and SUV models are expected to have more battery space, a reduction in fuel usage/dependency and an increase in technological features.
